(Miami Beach, FL) The Betsy Hotel (@thebetsyhotel) is pleased to announce an exceptional jazz line up for Fall/Winter 2022 with more than nine weekly live performances featuring award-winning jazz pianists, vocalists, and instrumentalists. The Betsy Hotel's curated core rotation of 13 pianists represent wide-ranging culturally infused styles with highly developed improvisational skills and consummate piano technique. With daily performances located at a Steinway concert grand in The Betsy Hotel Lobby Salon, there is no cover, and no minimum. #JazzAtTheBetsy also champions jazz vocalists as the genre’s seminal storytellers. To that end, Betsy presents a powerful monthly event on Third Thursdays featuring three generations of singers. Led by legacy vocalist Carole Ann Taylor and mid-career performer Cindy Ellis, each event also features an emerging vocalist who is also an alum of the Miami Dade County Public Schools. Several high profile jazz concerts in Lummus Park will also take place, curated by The Betsy and presented in partnership with the Ocean Drive Association on a stage located in front of The Betsy Hotel on the (new) Ocean Drive Promenade.

The Betsy’s 2022 New Year’s Eve jazz lineup includes: the Jim Gasior Quartet (9 PM to 2 AM), the Julie Davis & Ken Dow Jazz Duo (5 to 9 PM), and DUETOLOGY featuring Ryan and Cindy Ellis performing in Spanish and English (11 AM to 4 PM). The Betsy's New Year’s Day jazz lineup includes pianists Tal Cohen (11 AM to 4 PM) and Edgar Pantoja (6 to 11PM). The Betsy Hotel presents the longest (continuously) running jazz program in the Miami region – and hosts a festival held during National Jazz Appreciation Month (April) that celebrates historic Overtown. https://bit.ly/3e0OaWk Many jazz greats — such as Lena Horne, Count Basie and Nat King Cole — performed in hotels on Miami Beach yet were required to sleep in Overtown due to discriminatory segregation laws.
