Solidarity Gala for UNICEF Raises 200,000 Euros
In Florence a great evening took place on the December 13th, 2022 dedicated to human solidarity and charity. “With children’s eyes” — the Christmas charity event organized and hosted by the cultural entrepreneur Claudia Conte has been a fundraising success in it’s Florentine debut. The total amount raised, which will serve to support the work of UNICEF Innocenti – Global Office of Research and Foresight, reached 200,000 euros. “An extraordinary result that fills us with joy – said Claudia Conte (who wore a dress created by Designer Alberta Ferretti for the occasion). Gestures of solidarity are never taken for granted, we have to thank the generosity of the many participants in the evening and of the companies that have decided to make a real, concrete gesture that will help us in this precious work of support for UNICEF and children”. The program too place in an extraordinary historical location - Palazzo Vecchio within the Salone dei Cinquecento. The event was in collaboration with the Municipality of Florence and Mayor Dario Nardella. Attendees were entertained, yet left filled with emotion thanks to the moving performances of numerous artists present who took center stage.
One of the most appreciated performances by the audience, over 250 people, was the performance by Paola Turci, who sang “O sole mio” accompanied on the violin by the mayor Dario Nardella. Also, present for the evening with Turci was her wife, Francesca Pascale.
Among the guests was the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Infrastructure and Transport Matteo Salvini, who was accompanied by his partner movie-producer Francesca Verdini.
The evening continued with the performances by Italian singer Annalisa Minetti, who sang one of her best songs “Invincible”, actor Pino Calabrese who recited the poem “Tre piccerille” by Eduardo de Filippo, followed by actors Chiara Francini, Roberta Giarrusso, American actor Daniel McVicar and the maestro and ambassador of the UNICEF Italy - famous music conductor Beppe Vessicchio.
The evening, which has been organized with the patronage of the Tuscany Region, also had the participation of the president Eugenio Giani, the general director of UNICEF Italy Paolo Rozera, the prefect of Florence Valerio Valenti, the prefect of Pistoia Licia Donatella Messina, the Deputy Mayor of Florence Alessia Bettini, Councilor for Education Sara Funaro, Councilor for Urban Planning Cecilia Del Re, Director of the Museo del Novecento Sergio Risaliti, President of the Istituto degli Innocenti Maria Grazia Giuffrida, President of the Chamber of Commerce of Florence Leonardo Bassilichi, the president of the Marini San Pancrazio Foundation Carlo Carnacini, the film producers Andrea Occhipinti and Maite Bulgari and various personalities from the world of industry and finance. Also present were several very popular influencers on social media such as Luca Campolunghi, Emily Shaqiri and Asia Busciantella.
