Kenny J’s “Back to Rhythm and Love: Volume 1” — A Musical Tribute to Empowering Women
Kenny J’s Message to Women of Empowerment in Latest EP Release
Kenny J, the celebrated singer, songwriter, and producer, has once again captured the essence of love and empowerment with his latest release, “Back to Rhythm and Love: Volume 1.” Building on the success of his powerful single “You’re A Woman,” which made waves on International Women’s Day, Kenny J continues his mission to honor and uplift women through music. This EP serves as more than just a collection of songs; it’s a heartfelt journey that explores the importance of love, respect, and positivity, providing listeners with a refreshing reminder of the power of genuine connection in a world that often forgets its significance.
1. “Back to Rhythm and Love: Volume 1” is a powerful testament to your commitment to uplifting women through music. What inspired you to create this EP, and how do you hope it impacts your listeners? Kenny J: This EP was inspired by my continued desire to uplift. As my previous records “Love Is All We Need” and “You’re A Woman” were designed to uplift the heart of a woman, inspire and empower, this EP carry’s that same essence. I hope the EP has an impact on every listener by providing inspiration, assurance, and a ray of sunshine.
2. Your song “You’re A Woman” was released on International Women’s Day. Can you share the significance of this timing and how you chose the themes for your songs in the EP?
Kenny J: The song “You’re A Woman” is an organic and profound record. It was never supposed to be released with my voice or on International Women’s Day. The record became what it has become because of the message. The significance of that record and the others on the EP was to bring love and respect back to the music. Strategically I chose the themes of the EP to cater to women, their significance and power. It only made it right to release the song on that day.
3. In “Protect Your Heart,” you reflect on a heartfelt conversation with your daughter. How did this personal experience influence your songwriting process and the message you wanted to convey through this track?
Kenny J: Personal experience influenced this song a lot. The conversation I had with my daughter influenced the writing because I didn’t want to talk like a dad but give the advice like a mature adult. This is not only advice I want to only give to her but also advice I’d give to myself. The conversations about life experiences like I had with her should benefit everyone because everyone will need to “Protect Your Heart”.
4. As a producer and songwriter, how do you approach the challenge of creating music that resonates deeply with women and empowers them in the realm of love?
Kenny J: My approach to create music that resonates with women is to always be honest in my presentation and truth. Many times, with men some of us lack the ability to be honest in the realm of love for either the lack of understanding of the subject or because we were taught incorrectly. Creating music in this realm is not only to empower our women but to empower us as men.

5. Your music spans multiple genres, including Hip Hop, R&B, Latin, and Gospel. How do you integrate these diverse influences into your work to create a unique sound that still maintains a consistent message of love and respect?
Kenny J: It’s because I’ve had experience with these genres, I’m able to be true to the unique sound of them individually. Every genre has specific elements about them and interpreting them in my brain is fun and exciting.
6. In what ways do you believe music can serve as a tool for social change, particularly in promoting gender equality and respect for women?
Kenny J: Music can serve as a tool for social change “period”. Music can speak to gender equality, respect for women, culture and many other things from the answers the music provides. Often, musical perspectives provide answers but, on many occasions, it can also lack truth to many issues. Music that concentrates on serving as a tool can bridge the gap and provide clarity and answers. An answer can be true or false, but the truth is always true.
7. Looking forward, what can fans expect from future volumes of “Back to Rhythm and Love”? Are there any specific themes or messages you’re excited to explore in upcoming releases?
Kenny J: Fans can expect more personal experiences concerning love. Communicating about my personal experiences will be a joy. I’m particularly excited to just share and express my love for love. I’m just excitingly busy and can’t wait to see the responses.
