The prestigious Callas Tribute Prize, created by Dante Mariti, was held in New York on March 6, 2025, at the Italian Cultural Institute. This annual event paid tribute to the legendary soprano Maria Callas, La Divina," marking the 100th anniversary of her birth and celebrating International Women's Day.


Hosted by Maria Antonietta Vacca, the evening gathered distinguished figures from the worlds of art, music, and journalism, honoring women who had made a significant impact in their fields. Among the honorees were actress and producer Jo Champa, Italian-Argentine journalist and businesswoman Natalia Denegri (who served as the event's godmother and guest of honor), and Metropolitan Opera soprano Aprile Millo. Also recognized were soprano Renata Vari, Kristin Simpson, mezzo-soprano Sofia Durante, and renowned media figures such as Rita Cosby (Fox News) and Miranda Devine (New York Post and Fox News). Among the other influential notables in attendance were Director Christian Catena, Conductor Filippo Arlia, and Journalism Award recipient Ekaterina Shevliakova.


One of the evening's most anticipated moments was the special recognition of the film "Maria," starring Angelina Jolie, which was in theaters at the time.



Produced by Melos International in collaboration with the Italian Cultural Institute of New York, the event not only celebrated female excellence but also promoted diversity and artistic innovation.

The ceremony included a special television feature hosted by Maria Antonietta Vacca, featuring actor Ivan Raganato, who delivered readings on Callas and Pasolini, along with Spanish pop singer Amalia, who had composed a song especially for the occasion.
