Taylor Ré Lynn Attends Tribeca Film Festival Premiere of Love Gilda
Taylor Ré Lynn, American actress and producer of the Golden Globe nominated film The Fencer, attended the Tribeca Film Festival World Premiere of the new Gilda Radner documentary Love Gilda. Lynn is an associate producer of the ground-breaking documentary that premiered on April 18, 2018 at the Beacon Theatre. The star studded opening had many of Hollywood's legends in attendance to pay tribute to the Gilda Radner.
The documentary is a true autobiography account of the Emmy and Grammy award-winning comedian Gilda Radner who became a trailblazer and pioneer for women in comedy. Told through her own words through interviews, diary entries, and rare home movies, the documentary brings to light the life and story of a comedic genius who paved the future for other women in the industry.
“It’s great to see and hear the story of how one woman’s legacy could have such a lasting impact on other women in comedy and film. Gilda Radner was and is a true comedic icon,” noted Lynn.
Lynn attended the debut of the documentary in support of Radner’s legacy. “Lynn’s attendance encourages women to support other women in film,” explains producer Hannah Reeves. Gilda’s legacy lives on by the encouragement of our support for one another.”
Radner was a beacon of light for upcoming female comedians, as expressed by Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph and Melissa McCarthy in the documentary. Tina Fey, who introduced the Love Gilda film on opening night, was one of those who drew inspiration from Radner. Tina Fey was moved to tears while introducing the film at the Beacon Theatre over how much the comedienne influenced her.
LOVE, GILDA is directed and produced by Lisa D’Apolito with the support of the Gilda Radner estate. The film is a true autobiography of a pioneering woman, told in her own words and in her own voice. It weaves together audiotapes, rare home movies, diary entries, and interviews with her friends and those inspired by her including: Bill Hader, Amy Poehler, Maya Rudolph, and Cecily Strong; SNL original cast members Chevy Chase, Laraine Newman, and Paul Shaffer; as well as Lorne Michaels (SNL creator and producer), Alan Zweibel (SNL writer), Stephen Schwartz (Broadway composer); Andrew Alexander (CEO of Second City), and long-time friend and actor Martin Short.
The Tribeca Film Festival was founded by Robert De Niro, Jane Rosenthal and Craig Hatkoff in 2001 to spur the economic and cultural revitalization of lower Manhattan following the attacks on the World Trade Center.
